Medtronic of Canada Ltd. launches its Compassionate Program for Insulin Pump Technology and
Continuous Glucose Monitoring
MISSISSAUGA, ON, November 29, 2007 - Medtronic of Canada Ltd. is pleased to announce that it will launch in January 2008 its Compassionate Program for insulin pump technology and continuous glucose monitoring. This program will be facilitated through S.U.G.A.R. (Support Unlimited Guaranteed for Appliances Required), a national charitable organization with the sole purpose of actively serving the people of Canada by providing medical devices (for diabetes management) to individuals who are unable to afford them.
Medtronic recognizes the importance of making insulin pump technology and continuous glucose monitoring available to children and adults living with diabetes and is committed to assist in providing the opportunity for access to these products. Through its rigorous selection process, the S.U.G.A.R. charity will identify individual applicants who qualify.
